Winning Streaks...Losing Streaks

We all have them...

It's like a cup of Hot water.. You Can Add Coffee or Tea Bag...Lovely (winning streak.)

Or you can spill it in your lap...OUCH! (losing streak.)

The question is not how to avoid them (nice if you could) oops Unicorn Land.

It's how to control the staking to steer you through it and come out unscathed.

And into the next sequence of winners..

like the darkest part of the day, is just before dawn..

Or in other words,

"The HARDEST CLIMB is usually rewarded with the BEST VIEW."

The answer is in the box above... read on..

I try and start each day with humour...

Apart from looking in the mirror or reading the hatches and despatches (obituaries), to see if I should be still standing..

Here is a mathematician joke, why... just to get you thinking.... how is it relevant.

Q: Did you hear about the constipated mathematician?

A: He worked it out with a pencil.

And before we switch to a serious mode...

How many pencils are there in the world?

I have no idea what the answer is, but one respondent to this question on

www.answers.com said,

“42,462,013,000,000,000 pencils about.”

The amazing part is that 17 people found this useful!

Do you ever wonder how some people get drivers licences... and even remember where they parked the car.. when shopping.

OK... let's get into the meat and potatoes of this D'Alembert Staking plan (the mathematician approach).

Available in Excel Version

Available in Cloud Version to use on Phone, Tablet, PC or Mac.

Jean le Rond d'Alembert (November 16, 1717 – October 29, 1783) was a French mathematician

Born over 300 years ago, the basic principle he discovered is still true.

On even money chances, there will be runs of losses and runs of winners and over time they will equal out. So hence his prinicple in staking.

Based on even odds like the toss of a coin, where there is only two outcomes, over 100 tosses, we would expect around 50 to be heads, and 50 to be tails. Yes some coins are heavier on one side etc, but you get the point.

Same goes for even chance dogs, horses, sports odds and the casino (not allowing for the house edge.)

And D'alembert acknowledged that it was indeed possible to have runs of one and not the the other.

And his staking is designed to accommodate these patterns.

So if you are a punter that looks at even money or there abouts bets, then this software has your name on it.

Also we have added a feature that allows punters who bet higher odds to also benefit from it.

The graph below is betting 41 favourites in a day in Australian Racing.

Horses, harness and dogs. Odds from 2.00 to 4.50

Win Rate was 36.60% 15 winning bets and had a 21.50% Return on Investment

Starting with 1.00 unit bet.

You can see there were some losing runs, one of 5 and one of 4, we had one winning run of 3 bets, 3 runs of 2 bets in a row.

We turned over 295.00 to make 63.55 profit on Betfair Favourites 2.00 or better.

We used 8% betfair commission on these figures.

UK 30/10/2021 to 3-11-2021

The same video you may have seen already.

Betting Favs on UK racing.

Betting the Fav on Betfair Odds (2.00 to 3.00 only), 10 seconds before the official off.

34 Bets. 18 wins (5.90%) S/R

Spent 131.00: Profit 48.91: ROI 37.3%

What about UK Favs 2.00 and upwards. (so no odds on horses.)

Yes, only 5 days, but strike rate of 34% is around what you expect for favourite horses. (We had no odds on horses, although there were not many.

But look at bet 116 to bet 126 10 bets 9 losers. this is where the system is strong, the long losing runs and treated with care.

But isn't this a Martingale Staking Plan?

No, definitely NOT, in Martingale, the staking is doubling after a losing bet, and when a winner is found (if found) then you get all the staking back if the bet is 2.00 or more odds.

Where in D'Alembert's staking plan, only the second bet is double the first bet, so the first stake is 1 and if a losing bet the second is 2, and then increases by 1, so 3 bet if all previous have lost is 3.

When a winner is hit the stake reduces by 1 unit, so if bet 3 wins, (stake was 3) then the 4 bet will be 2 units.

The prinicple is very simple, however the returns are there, as there will be losing streaks (don't we know) and there will be winning streaks, D'Alembert staking to allowing for these as they happen.

As you can see in the graph above we had it the first 30 bets, we had 10 winners and the losses were around 45 units, the next 11 bets had 5 winners and the 45 units loss became 63.55 profit, and the next stake was 1.00 unit again on the 42 bet. We took the profit and finished the day up.

Who is this staking plan best suited?

As mentioned, D'Alembert looked at the even odds, when creating it. So, ideally you would think the punter that likes even money bets is best suited.

That would include:

  • Casino bettors on Even money options, like Red/Black, High/Low

  • Horse players on even win chances, or place betting

  • Sports on two outcome options, handicap options.

However using our tweak, with the adjusting the reduction from 1 to 2 you can look at higher odds.

  • This will bring in horses favourite win market, up to 4.50, (which we showed above).

  • And match odds markets in football and most sports.

  • Also in Dutching you could look at using this staking plan.

  • There are alot of options that you can put to it.

  • Limited only by your betting knowledge.

This product in either spreadsheet or cloud version, is visual to see how you are going with the graph giving you live report of how you are going.

Plus the actual figures of Bets, Amount spent, Win Ratio, Overall Profit and Return on Investment (ROI).

Failing to keep a record (having a scoreboard) is the number 1 reason most punters fail to make steady profits.

This staking plan, is your pathway to better money management and getting more money entering the account than exiting it.

The Cloud software version for use on the Go or you have no excel.

How do you eat an elephant?

Simple question, why the question?

Well it is to do with maybe how you place your bets, and erode your bank and confidences.

Tell, (be honest), how many times have you have 5 or 6 losing bets, and looked at the dent in your betting bank.

Maybe 100 down or more... only a few races to go... then the pumpkin head takes over, if we put 120 on the race even money favourite.. we will be 20 up for the day..

Cool plan.. except the 2.00 race fav,, does not get the memo and gets beat by a head... tears form,, now you are 220 down..

PUMPKIN HEAD has new plan, 240 on the next fav that is 2.10, hey we will still be up.. just can not see it being beat.

You know what happens, you have been in this film... it jumps and gets way back in sprint race flashes home.

Certainty beat the race caller declares.. you are now in a hole to the tune of 460.00.

Despirited you throw in the towel and watch the last two race, and yes you know the ending.. both win, without you on them.

See.. alot of us need the Anti Pumpkin Head warrior, to keep us in check and on track.

D'Alembert staking is your caped crusader.. he will not allow you to make those Pumpkin Head bets.

We all need a plan, and we need structure to stick to it.

Remember.. the William Golding's Book.. Lord Of The Flies?

School boy's stranded on an island... cliff note version.

They formed two tribes.. and before long anarchy reins, the civilised rules disappeared and some saw nothing wrong with killing Piggy (the fat kid), they become feral.

Without rules.. your betting can become feral...like Lord Of The Flies..

Just as success leaves road markers..so does failure..

The main road marker in failing to make a profit in betting, is the failure to follow the staking plan, and in most cases no staking plan.

Flying by the seat of your pants is not a plan.. so stop it!

Oh..yes how to eat an elephant.. small bits of course.. same way to grow your betting bank.

So for the price of one or two Pumpkin Head bets you can get control, and start growing the bank and not continually having to make more deposits.
